After a desperate search through the pages of old diaries I find this previously thought lost photo contact sheet of thumb nail size images of my 1997 visit to Yemen. From those thumb nail images I ascertain that the man wearing platform shoes and introduced to me as ‘the Engineer’ in 1997 was in fact Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is the al Qaeda member currently detained in the US Guantanamo Bay military prison on charges of masterminding the 9/11 attacks:
