1994 & 1995 - Worldwide - Israeli conflict escalation

In 1994 I saw a renewed brutality to the Israeli Palestinian conflict, with suicide attacks becoming the favoured tactic, intent on ending the Oslo Peace Accords signed in 1993.

25th February, Palestine: Cave of the Patriarchs massacre - a lone and suicidal attacker, an American citizen in an Israeli army uniform, opened fire on civilian worshippers in the Ibrahimi Mosque. He murdered twenty-nine men, women and children and wounded a further one-hundred and twenty-five more before being over powered and killed by survivors of the massacre.

April to December, Israel: Thirty-five men, women and children are murdered and hundreds more are wounded in five seperate suicide attacks over an eight-month period. The attackers targeted civilians on public transport.

18th July, Argentina: Eighty-five people are murdered by a suicide attacker detonating a truck bomb besides a Jewish centre in Buenos Aires city. Hundreds more men, women and children are wounded.

the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin made me I realised that extremists on all sides were willing to commit any atrocity in order to de-rail the peace process:
